Application
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to maintain records and monitor vessel operations according to organisational and statutory requirements. It includes the ability to identify and report non-compliances.
This unit applies to individuals who perform work associated with the use of vessels relating to cargo loading, unloading and securing, catering, contingency response services, marine engineering, fishing activities, maintenance of vessel, navigation of vessel, port operations, safety drills, sub-sea work with stock culture devices or diving, or towage. Vessel operations are subject to regulations, and therefore these individuals are required to maintain records and monitor operations to identity and respond to any non-compliances.
All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, according to state/territory health and safety, food safety, biosecurity and environmental regulations, legislation and standards that apply to the workplace.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
